According to the statement released at 2:30PM this afternoon, the RBA has decided to maintain its current policy, including keeping the official cash rate at 0.1% and the 3-year bond yield at a target of 10 basis points. The December cash rate decision was in line with market expectations. The Aussie dollar fluctuated slightly against the US, now at 0.7366. The Australian dollar is currently at 4.8375 against offshore RMB and 4.8468 against onshore RMB.

According to Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), October seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose by 0.1 per cent from 6.9 per cent in September to 7 per cent.
But, the seasonally adjusted employment increased by 178,800 people (1.4 per cent) between September and October and hours worked by 1.2 per cent.
The rate of AUD/USD is currently at 0.7290.
